The spring season begins in a few weeks’ time and Oldenburger|Fritom gets off to a good start of this season with a new customer: Total Hair Service. This company from the Dutch city of Groningen is one of the largest suppliers of hair care products in the Netherlands. They entrust us with their online shop. You can read all about it in this newsletter.
As we informed you earlier, Oldenburger|Fritom is the proud logistics partner of Top Dutch Solar Racing. Sunday the team from the Northern Netherlands made its debut at the start of the World Solar Challenge in Australia. This prestigious solar-powered car race event is all about self-built solar cars and sustainable innovations. In this newsletter, you will find out all there is to know about this world-famous competition with many Dutch winners.
We unsuspectingly titled our previous newsletter “Nice start to the spring season”. A short while later the coronavirus epidemic broke out. The Dutch government designated Oldenburger|Fritom as being a company belonging to a vital sector. This meant that we were (and are) allowed to fully continue our services, albeit with the necessary safety adjustments. And of course, with a continuing focus on quality.
In early 2020 there were fears of a decline in demand for logistics real estate due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Last year, however, the take-up of logistics real estate in the Netherlands was more than 2.6 million square meters. This is the outcome of a study by Buck Consultants International among twenty logistics real estate developers and investors. They represent 80 to 90 percent of the Dutch logistics real estate market.
Despite the many challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Oldenburger|Fritom is holding its course. We also now focus on stimulating a growth mindset. Internal trainings in the Lean Six Sigma method are a part of this focus. You can read about our colleagues who recently obtained the Lean Six Sigma Orange Belt certificate.
