As if an internship during COVID-19 is not challenging enough, students of the NHL Stenden University have simultaneously obtained their Green Belt certificate. Sayenne Strijker, Floor Veuger and Yannick Vos fulfilled the practical project of this certificate at Oldenburger|Fritom.
The internship is part of NHL Stenden's Logistics Management course. Last September, the trio started a Lean Six Sigma assignment in our BREEAM Outstanding DC in Veendam. The process of one of our customer relationships is central to this assignment.
The Lean Six Sigma assignment is performed according to the five steps of the DMAIC model: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. In addition to the beginning and end of the process, all intermediate process steps are also mapped. Then the students will collect relevant data and will make an analysis. Based on this, proposals for improvement are put forward.
Our colleague, Master Black Belt Frans Andeweg, guides the trio and assessed the practical project of the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. The theoretical part was assessed by the Skoledo training center on behalf of NHL Stenden.
Sayenne, Floor and Yannick: congratulations once again and thank you for your efforts during these challenging times!
