Oldenburger|Fritom works closely with regional education institutions to keep young people with logistics ambitions in the Northern Netherlands. In this context, we participated in two great events last week.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” While some people know the answer at a young age, many others find it a difficult choice. That is why JINC organizes flash internships. During these internships, students of primary schools and pre-vocational secondary education schools visit companies to get acquainted with a number of professions. They discover whether a profession suits their interests by working for a company for one morning.
Flash internship at Oldenburger|Fritom
On Wednesday 16 October, Oldenburger|Fritom opened its doors to six students and two teachers of a pre-vocational secondary education school from the northern Dutch city of Groningen. The visit began with a short presentation and a guided tour. The students then worked in our warehouse and our e-fulfilment department. Our colleagues Bert Lange and Jesper Brouwer guided the students in order picking and preparing orders for shipment.
Oldenburger|Fritom has been participating in the flash internships of JINC for a number of years. The day before yesterday we welcomed the fifth group of students in two years. Both the students and Oldenburger|Fritom have had good experiences with these internships.
MatchDay | Greenwise Campus
On October 17, during MatchDay at the Greenwise Campus Innovation Center in the northern Dutch city of Emmen, talented students were brought into contact with companies in the region. The organization, including the NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences and Drenthe College, wants to help students find an internship, a graduation project or a job.
Our colleagues Pieter de Jong (on the right in the photo) and Mats Dale represented Oldenburger|Fritom during MatchDay. Both look back on a well-organized and successful event for our company.
