The Lean Six Sigma method is the common theme throughout the business operation of Oldenburger|Fritom. The same therefore applies to the accompanying belt certification. For example, our colleague Jan Jacobs obtained his Green Belt certificate this week. Jan is Supervisor Logistic Support within our Business Unit Warehousing, VAS & E-Fulfillment.
In this position he is responsible for activities related to the order entry process. These activities were recently expanded for one of our customers. The order entry process was therefore central during the practical part of Jan's Green Belt training. For this he has, among other things, made a project plan and applied Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
Successful result
After completion, it was his recommendation to further automate the order entry process. Specifically, through interfaces between SAP, the ERP system of our customer, and WICS, our warehouse management system. We have now partly implemented Jan's recommendation with successful results: the processing time of the orders has been reduced and the chance of error has been minimized.
Jan, congratulations again on obtaining the Green Belt certificate. We also wish you good luck with the follow-up, the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training.
