For the 6th consecutive year Oldenburger|Fritom opened its doors to high schools located in Eastern Groningen. 20 students from the Dollard, Ubbo Emmius and Winkler Prins high schools were welcomed. These visits allow 9 and 10th grade students to understand the workings of a logistics company and gives them a clear overview of what jobs are available and how they are carried out. It helps them choose the right education or specialization.
Sustainable logistics in practice
Companies participating in the high school visits get a chance to meet their future colleagues. At Oldenburger|Fritom students were given a short business presentation and tour. In Oldenburger|Fritom’s BREEAMS Outstanding distribution center students saw sustainable logistics put into practice.
Students experienced what it is like to drive a forklift and got information about follow-up education and specialisms. For these visit Oldenburger|Fritom worked together with HOC Education & Training, Noorderpoort and the Transport and Logistics Institute.
