Grand opening of our state-of-the-art distribution center

On Friday 20 September, Oldenburger|Fritom celebrated the official opening of its new distribution center in Veendam. At the press of a button, Mayor Sipke Swiersta and our Logistics Manager Erik Mekkes gave the go-ahead for a spectacular opening act.
More than 80 guests were then taken along in a fantastic vocal comedy show by artist Niek Boes. Afterwards, none other than Walther Ploos van Amstel gave a lecture in our new presentation room. He spoke passionately about the opportunities for sustainable cooperation within transportation and logistics.
Oldenburger|Fritom itself was also treated to a surprise this afternoon. Cees Boons of Remco Ruimtebouw, the main contractor of our new construction project, awarded the BREEAM certificate with a score of no less than 97.27%. This is the highest score ever achieved in the Netherlands by a logistics service provider. It is based on the guideline for BREEAM-NL New Construction and Renovation 2014 v2.
