Grand Opening BREEAM Outstanding distribution center

A notable milestone for Oldenburger|Fritom: today the grand opening of our new and second BREEAM Outstanding distribution center in Veendam took place. Here we treated our guests to an afternoon with an exciting program.

After a word of welcome of our CEO, René Dale, guest speaker and TV and theatre personality Raymond Mens came on stage. The American connoisseur and political scientist interpreted current affairs in an inspiring manner. This was followed by the official opening in our new distribution center.

Shaping the Future of Logistics
Arnold de Jong, CEO of the Fritom Group, and colleague Albert Medendorp, our BREEAM project leader, pressed a red button together, which set an impressive laser show in motion. Our company highlights since 1917 were then projected onto the warehouse racks in a spectacular way. 

Guided by our motto “Shaping the Future of Logistics” we have also upgraded our main warehouse and office building in Veendam from BREEAM In-Use Excellent to Outstanding. This means that all our buildings in Veendam are soon certified according to the highest achievable BREEAM rating. In other words, they meet every sustainability requirement, both now and in the future.
