Construction update BREEAM Outstanding DC | 2024

The construction of our second distribution center according to BREEAM Outstanding is making steady progress. Where only the contours were visible at the beginning of September, our sustainable distribution center in Veendam is now really starting to take shape. 

Under the supervision of Bouwgroep Noord and Hardeman, the new construction is proceeding as planned and on schedule. The same applies to the upgrade of our existing warehouse in Veendam, from BREEAM Excellent to Outstanding. The certification scheme BREEAM In-Use for making existing buildings more sustainable applies to this. Examples of the improvements that are being realized here are:

•    Installation of heat pumps (instead of a gas connection)
•    CO2 monitoring
•    Water-efficient sanitary facilities
•    Facility for reusing and recycling waste
•    Implementing a mitigation plan
•    Enhancing the landscape character

The new construction and the upgrade are expected to be completed in early 2025. This means that all our logistics facilities in Veendam will soon have the highest BREEAM sustainability certificate.
