Bekaert is a Belgian multinational, founded in 1880 in the Belgian city of Zwevegem by Leo Leander Bekaert. The company specializes in steel wire transformation and coating technologies. Today the company has nearly 30,000 employees in 45 countries.

In 2000 the Bekaert Group acquired Furigas in Assen, where it had been since 1966. The name of the company changed to Bekaert Combustion Technology. At the factory in Assen eco-friendly gas burners and heat exchangers are produced. The company is market leader in premix technology. By combining this technology in gas burners with condensed heat exchangers. The efficiency of heating cells is maximized. Resulting in a very low emission of Nox, Co and CO2.

Since 2015 Bekaert Combustion Technology in Assen works together with Oldenburger|Fritom on their logistic services. The Lean Six Sigma method is part of Bekaert Combustion Technology’s as well as Oldenburger|Fritom’s business strategy. That’s why both partners started a joint continuous improvement program. In this, projects are monitored according to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and dashboards. During the quarterly meetings status and progress are discussed.
